Dr Rodrigo Teixeira (MED0001650480) is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon based in Melbourne, Australia. A graduate of the Santa Casa de Sao Paulo School of Medical Sciences, Dr Teixeira completed his internship and introductory General Surgery training at the same institution.
His accredited training in Plastic Surgery included rotations in various training centres under the auspices of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP). This was followed by international fellowship training in Melbourne, Australia which consisted of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Fellowship at The Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery affiliated with the Monash University, Craniofacial and Cleft Surgery fellowship at the Royal Children’s Hospital, followed by a second and third fellowships at the same institution in the areas of Paediatric Plastic Surgery and Burns, the latter combined with adult burns at the Alfred Hospital.
After completion of fellowship training, he returned to Brazil to work at the Hospital of Craniofacial Anomalies Rehabilitation part of the University of Sao Paulo (USP) and had the opportunity to learn more from his Brazilian mentors, provide education and supervision of plastic surgery fellows, and focus on the treatment of cleft lip, palate, primary and secondary rhinoplasty, facial clefts and other complex facial anomalies.
Dr Teixeira is known for his expertise in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Facial Surgery and Rhinoplasty. He is particularly interested in higher level education and has travelled abroad for observerships and medical volunteering. He enjoys sharing his knowledge of Facial Plastic Surgery with surgical trainees, fellows and visiting surgeons.

He is a passionate lifetime learner and educator, having attended multiple graduate and post-graduate MAFAC courses in Australia, Amsterdam and at the Mayo Clinic, and is proud to be a faculty member of MAFAC.
