Dr Wong is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon working at the Singapore General Hospital in Singapore. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2000. He completed his Basic Surgical Training in General Surgery in 2004 and went on to complete his Advance Surgical Training in Plastic Surgery at the Department of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at the Singapore general Hospital in 2008.
Upon completing his Plastic Surgery training, he went on to do a 1-year Reconstructive Microsurgery and Aesthetic Surgery fellowship in 2007 under Professor Fu-Chan Wei at the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. This was followed by a 6 month Advanced Facial Aesthetic Fellowship with Dr Bryan Mendelson in Melbourne Australia in 2009. In 2010 he was awarded the first International Fellowship by the American Society of Aesthetic Surgery (ASAPS). This scholarship gave him the opportunity to spend time with and learn from top American plastic surgeons throughout the USA.
He is currently Consultant at the Department of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at the Singapore General Hospital. He is active in research and has published over 60 peer review articles and contributed to several key reference textbooks in plastic surgery. His research interests include facial anatomy, anatomical changes of the ageing, aesthetic surgery of the Asian face and Asian Rhinoplasty.
Dr. Graf is Associate Professor in Plastic Surgery at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), Brazil. She is a graduate of Federal University of Paraná in 1976 and finished her plastic surgery training in Barata Ribeiro’s Hospital, Rio de Janeiro in 1980. Prof Graf acts also as Plastic Surgeon at Pietà Medical Center where she is Clinical Director.Dr Graf has worked at the Burn Unity at the Evangelic Hospital and Cleft and Palate Unity at the Nossa Senhora das Graças Hospital during her first ten years of practice. Her fellowship was with Professor Stephen Mathes at the University of San Francisco, California (UCSF) in 1995. She gain a Master Degree in 2000 and the Doctor Degree (PhD) in 2001 in Plastic Surgery at the UFPR. Prof. Graf was invited as Visiting Professor at the Yale University by Prof. John Persing in 2009 and at the University of South California by Prof. Grant Stevens in 2017.
Dr Graf has actively worked with the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP), as President of the Regional section of SBCP – Paraná, 2002 through 2004. She cooperated with ISAPS as National Secretary and Chair of the National Secretary of ISAPS in Brazil, 2004 through 2006. From 2006-2009 she worked as Editor in Chief of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Newsletter (ISAPS) and Assistant Chair of the ISAPS Educational Council, 2012-2014.
Prof Graf has over 50 publications in peer review journals and more than forty chapters in Brazilian and International plastic surgery books. The main topics of all the publications are face, including facelifting, endoscopic forehead, blepharoplasty, laser resurfacing and breasts reduction and augmentation.
Dr Graf is a current member of various Societies as, Active Member of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP) since 1981; Ibero-Latinoamerican Society of Plastic Surgery (IPRAS) since 1981; ISAPS – International Society of the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery since 1997 and Correspondent Member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) since 2000.
Prof Graf has been invited to give lectures in Meetings all over the world and has been awarded prizes for the Best Scientific Panel at the ASAPS Congress in 2002 and received the award as the best international article at the Blue Journal at the ASAPS Meeting in 2017.
Since the last 3 years Prof Ruth Graf has participated as Faculty Member at the Melbourne Advanced Facial Anatomy Course at the ASAPS Meeting.
Dr Andrés Freschi is a Buenos Aires, Argentina-based plastic surgeon. He graduated from the school of medicine of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina and is Board certified in aesthetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery by the UBA. He did the internship at the Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, FL. USA.
Dr Freschi trained in general surgery and plastic surgery at Hospital Argerich of Buenos Aires, which has an extremely good reputation in aesthetic plastic surgery residency programs in Argentina and one of the few in offering free public access to aesthetic surgery in the world. After 10 years of training since a very young age, he decided to focus on aesthetic surgery in his private practice.
Particularly interested in facial plastic surgery and looking for a higher level of surgical education, he supplemented his training with further postgraduate studies. He did a fellowship at the Esthetic Medical Centre of Ghent, Belgium and cadaver dissections at the University of Regensburg, Germany, University of Vienna, Southwestern University of Texas, USA. He has travelled as a fellow, visitor, attendee and over the shoulder observer, gaining experience and refining his surgical craftsmanship by the masters.Dr Freschi is full active member of the Argentinian Society of Aesthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (SACPER), the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS) and the International Society ofAesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS). He is regularly invited to lecture and teach peers and colleagues on advances in modern aesthetic face surgery. He works with a team of leading medical professional providing exemplary care for his patients.Overall, Dr Freschi loves to teach and is very proud to be part of the faculty members of MAFAC.
Dr. Ryu is a Korean plastic surgeon who has been in private practice in Seoul since 2015. He has been working for the affiliated hospital of Nanjing Medical University Friendship Plastic Surgery Hospital in Beijing, since 2015. He is an active member of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (KSPRS) and the Chinese Association of Plastics and Aesthetics (CAPA).
Dr. Ryu has been invited to speak as part of the panel at meetings in Korea, US, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, and other countries. He is very interested in Asian Facelift surgery and facial anatomy. The demand for Facelift procedures is rapidly increasing in Asia and as a result of continued economic development and significant growth of the aged population. As we know Asian’s facial features are different from Caucasian’s. It is unfortunate there are very little research papers for Asian facelift. It is for this reason, Dr Ryu is keen to contribute to the development of research in this area.
Dr. Ryu is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS). He is enthusiastic to learn from the ‘masters’ and share his experiences with colleagues.
Dr. Ryu is extremely honoured to be on the Faculty for the Melbourne Advanced Facial Anatomy Course.
Dr Bensimon obtained his medical degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor after which he trained in general surgery at the Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in New York. He trained in plastic Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center also in New York. Following this, he entered into private practice and obtained certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Dr Bensimon’s academic endeavors have centered on deep plane facelift techniques and the development and implementation of deep croton oil peels in facial aesthetic surgery. He is a frequent lecturer nationally (USA) and internationally. He has performed live peel demonstrations at the CATFAS, Ghent meeting twice, in the US, Holland, Spain, Mexico, and Australia. He is a regular lecturer and surgeon at the annual Live Surgery Workshop in Ghent, Belgium.
Dr Bensimon is a co-editior and author of the upcoming book “Centrofacial Rejuvenation” along with Alexis Verpaele and Patrick Tonnard. Dr Bensimon is particularly proud of being a member of the MAFAC faculty for the last two years.
Dr Bensimon is in private practice in Portland, Oregon, USA concentrating exclusively in aesthetic surgery. His most recent work has been the design and development of microsculpting cannulas which allow a significant refinement in liposuction.
Dr Utsugi is a board qualified plastic surgeon and the director of Clinic UTSUGIryu in Tokyo, Japan (opened 2007).
He is also an adjunct lecturer at the Kitasato University School of Medicine in Sagamihara and the Yokohama City University School of Medicine. His clinic specializes in facelift procedures. He graduated from the University of Kitasato School of Medicine in 1980. He later became the founder & Director of the Aesthetic Medical Center at Kitasato Institute Hospital in Tokyo from 1999 to 2007. It was the first anti-aging plastic surgery facility in Japan. He was a research fellow at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center under the tutelage of Dr Linton Whitaker from 1992 to 1995. He has had a long standing interest and understanding of facial anatomy based facelifts shown by his procedures. He has created his unique ‘MIR-Lift（Mimetic Muscles Immobilized And Relaxation Forehead Lift）and ‘Ligament to Ligament Facelift’. He completed the full MAFAC in Melbourne. Dr Bryan Mendelson has helped his progress with his facelift procedures greatly and has been a mentor for him.
Steven R. Jacobson, MD recently started a private practice after 9 years on staff at the Mayo Clinic as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery and consultant in the Division of Plastic Surgery in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr Jacobson earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine, Minneapolis, He completed both his general and Plastic Surgery residencies at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education, College of Medicine. Even among the best he was awarded a prestigious Mayo Foundation Scholar fellowship to train in Australia under Dr Bryan Mendelson, the world’s leading authority on facial anatomy.
He is immediate past President of the Minnesota Society of Plastic Surgeons, member of the Priestley Society and American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr Jacobson has had articles published in multiple journals such as the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, American Journal of Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr Jacobson has served as a consultant and Principal investigator in breast reconstruction studies, and he is a frequent presenter at both national and international conferences and symposia.
Dr Jacobson currently resides in Rochester, Minnesota with his wife Dyan and their 4 children. He enjoys hockey, boating, wake surfing and other outdoor activities. He is excited to share his passion for Aesthetic Surgery.
Dr. Sharaf is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, USA with a special clinical interest in Facial Aesthetic Surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery and Head and Neck Reconstruction and Microsurgery. He is a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons (ASMS), and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
Dr. Sharaf is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and McGill University (Dentistry). He started his surgical training at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Maxillofacial Surgery and General Surgery and went on to continue his training in Plastic Surgery at Montefiore & Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. Following that, Dr. Sharaf pursued a fellowship in Advanced Reconstruction and Microsurgery at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the American and Canadian Boards of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
He is currently Assistant Professor of Surgery at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and has special interests in teaching applied facial anatomy and surgical approaches to the craniofacial area. He has given numerous lectures and hands-on anatomy dissections to the Mayo Clinic plastic surgery residents, Mayo medical students and Mayo surgical assistant program.
Dr. Sharaf has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and several textbook chapters. He has been invited to speak at a number of national and international meetings on subjects relating to Facial Surgery and Reconstruction.
Dr. Surek is a private practice Plastic Surgeon in Kansas City. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Anatomy at Kansas City University. In addition to his Plastic Surgery Residency, Dr. Surek completed an ASAPS Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.
He specializes in cosmetic surgery of the face, breast and body as well as soft tissue filler injection and deep chemical peeling.
Dr. Surek also performs facial reconstruction following MOHS. Dr. Surek has co-authored several book chapters and published original research in facial cosmetic surgery, facial anatomy, filler injections and chemical peeling. He is the co-author of Facial Volumization: An Anatomic Approach, an anatomy-based textbook for filler injection. Dr. Surek also teaches courses nationally on facial anatomy for filler injection and facial aesthetic surgery.
After finishing her studies at the University of Vienna, Dr Nina Schwaiger commenced training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Graz, Austria in 2006. Prioir to specialising in Plastic Surgery, Dr Schwaiger completed her general medicine training in Austria. She then moved to Germany to finalize the Plastic Surgery training program in Hannover and Cologne. During her training, she worked as a medical research officer in Sydney to investigate a new anastomosis device in microsurgery in 2005.
Since 2010 Dr. Schwaiger has been employed at Dreifaltigkeits-Hospital, Wesseling, Germany where she works under the guidance of Dr. Dirk Richter. In 2013, Dr Schwaiger successfully passed her board exams in Germany. Her main interests include Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery of the face and body, especially periorbital surgery.
During 2015 and 2016 Dr. Schwaiger had the opportunity to spend some time with Dr. Bryan Mendelson in Melbourne. She has co-authored several papers and book chapters over the last years and in 2017 has been invited to join the MAFAC support Faculty. Dr Schwaiger is currently working as a Consultant of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit at the Dreifaltigkeits-Hospital, Wesseling, Germany, but is currently on maternity-leave..
Dr. med. Georgios Kolios MBA is the head of the Unit for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Facial Plastic Surgery in a hospital close to Hamburg, which is predominantly a teaching hospital for three German Universities.
Upon completion of Plastic Surgery training in 2012, he completed a 16 month Reconstructive Microsurgery and Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship in 2014 under Professor Fu-Chan Wei at the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. Followed closely by a 2 month Advanced Facial Aesthetic Fellowship with Dr Bryan Mendelson in Melbourne Australia in 2015.
He was invited to complete a 6 month Fellowship of the Dutch Association of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (DAFPRS) where he worked with World Renowned Plastic Surgeons in London (Royal Free, Wellington, Harley Street) and Germany.
In 2016 he was awarded the first German Plastic Surgeon with the International Fellowship by the American Society of Aesthetic Surgery (ASAPS). This scholarship provided him the opportunity to learn from highly reputable American Plastic Surgeons throughout the USA.
Additionally, Dr. med. Georgios Kolios is a Consultant for Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery for the Holsteinisches Breast Cancer Center (4 departments) and the Breast Cancer Center of Marienhospital Hamburg. He was recently honoured with the leading position in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery in the Hanse Chirurgie which is a group of celebrated surgeons from all fields in Hamburg.
